Sabahattin Ali Stories
Dreamogram / I Mean It Creative designed this project and produced this trailer for a reading of Sabahattin Ali’s stories.
Turkish novelist, short-story writer, poet, and journalist Sabahattin Ali is recognized as the most powerful and effective 20th-century short-story writers in Turkey. He was assassinated for his political opinions and known for his courageous engagement with themes like the individual in society and gender.
We approached this project with an iconographic cut-out illustration, playing with themes of self-reflection and gender. The image of the wind blowing words as the leaves off a tree can be interpreted as a nod at one of Ali’s most famous quotes: “Why can’t we walk quietly side by side, on windy autumn evenings, and listen to our souls talking?”
